Agnetha Faltskog

Agnetha is most well-known for her part in ABBA rather than as a solo artist in Sweden. ABBA was one of the most popular pop bands ever worldwide and commercially. Leaving school at 15 to take on a music career She soon discovered herself singing in Bernt Enghardt's group and gained a cult following. They signed her to a recording contract by Enghardt and the debut hit the Swedish charts. She became engaged and later wed Bjorn Ulvaeus. She then became a member of the group 'ABBA'. ABBA was one of top pop stars around the globe over the eight-year period. The group received Gold and Platinum awards all over the globe. In the years following ABBA, she released three albums including 'Wrap Your Arms Around Me' Eyes of a Woman and 'I Stand Alone'. Each of which garnered great success in Sweden and gained acclaim throughout Europe and beyond, but she didn't make it to the top of charts on the U.S. When the 1980s ended her career took an informal retirement. ABBA music became the basis of a musical jukebox called Mamma Mia!. It was also a hit in the U.K., 'My Coloring Book" was ranked at number eleven. The most recent album, A, was also highly acclaimed.
